To prevent his body from being cremated, Yusuke must convinced one person, through dreams, to save his body. He visited Keiko and saw her crying while in her sleep who seems dreaming about him. He reveals himself in Keiko's dream and informs her he will come back from life. Then he wipes Keiko's tears telling her he doesn't want see her crying anymore. However, that dream seems to be too weak to have an affect. Thus as to really convinced Keiko about the true message of that dream, Botan allowed Yusuke to possess Kuwabara for an hour. And after passing through an ordeal, Yusuke found Keiko. Not knowing how to approach Keiko, Yusuke had no other choice but to act his perverted deeds to her. Keiko slaps Kuwabara ( Yusuke ) thinking it was Yusuke. After explaining everything, Keiko believes she is really having a conversation with Yusuke, saying she knew because the way he acts and talks. This surprises Yusuke and promises he will come back for her. Then they share a hug.
Sayaka, a spirit world investagator, came to investagate Yusuke and his friends. They investigate Keiko first who was approached by a handsome boy in their school. The boy asks Keiko for a date, but she refuses because she says there is someone else she likes. Botan cheers for Yusuke because she knew Yusuke is that lucky guy. Yusuke attests ferociously. Then they follow Keiko to Yusuke's house. The whole house is a total mess and even Yusuke's unconscious body is surrounded by trash. Keiko slips and tumbles, then pile of books and a bowl covers Yusuke's face. Keiko wipes the dirt from Yusuke's face and she starts staring to the sleeping Yusuke while Yusuke, Botan and Sayaka closely watch her. And yes, Keiko almost kiss Yusuke. He was so relieved after the community service van interferes. Yusuke was truly relieved of the interference.
Yusuke's house was set on fire by some unknown man. As the fire starts engulfing Yusuke's house, Keiko hurriedly runs towards his house and without any hesitation, threw herself into the scorching fire to saved Yusuke's body. Yusuke was really worried about her safety and said his life is not worth living if Keiko dies. Then Sayaka informs him that the egg could help save Keiko, but in return, he will lose his chance to be revive back to life. Yusuke throws the egg in the fire and then it forms a path saving Keiko and his body. Yusuke was glad to see Keiko was safe, then got pissed off on Kuwabara for holding Keiko's hand. Yusuke was devastated because he can't keep his promise to Keiko, but he accepted the fact that he would never return to life ever again. However, Koenma gave Yusuke another chance because of that noble sacrifice. It turns out to be a test only and Koenma reveals that no matter how many good deeds he feed on the egg, it will still become an evil youkai. Yusuke was so happy to hear the good news.
The right time has come for Yusuke's resurrection. Now Yusuke's new task is to convince one person to kiss him before the 24 hours expire. However, his time is running out, his mother is so drunk, Kuwabara ignores the dream and Keiko is busy attending her sick mother in the hospital. But thanks to Botan, Keiko realizes her dreams are true and thus she rushes to Yusuke's apartment. Keiko saw Yusuke's body glowing and just before the 24 hours expire, Keiko rushes to kiss Yusuke. She thought she was too late and cries over Yusuke, but he suddenly awakes, greets Keiko with "ohayoo" ( good morning ) and Keiko hugs him with tears of joy.
After Yusuke was revived, his mother re-enrolled him again in his old school. He was so angry because his fellow students treated him like a ghost. Then he hears Keiko saying that it's because no one knows he got resurrected. Yusuke just look at her and then had a flashback on Keiko kissing him. They walk together while their schoolmates watch them in fear. As usual, Yusuke skipped another class again. He was charged for stealing his classmates' things ( done intentionally by his teacher to get him expelled in their school ) and Keiko stood up for him.
When Yusuke and his friends were sent to face the shiseijuu, it's leader Suzaku planned to capture Keiko to get into Yusuke. When Yusuke got captured, Susaku let him see how Keiko ( Botan is helping her escape ) is struggling to escape from his minions. Yusuke just went berserk, summoned his spritual powers and defeated Susaku.
This cute scene occurs right after Yusuke defeated Suzaku and recovered from his injuries. On their way home (I guess), Yusuke noticed how upset Keiko was over the incident, so he thought the best to way to settle this is to make Keiko slap him several times.
After apologizing, Yusuke didn't get a slap but instead Keiko makes him promise not to keep secrets from her about his mission. Yusuke didn't exactly agreed but at least he promised to keep her safe from anything.
Right after the match of Kuwabara and Rishou at the Ankoku Bujutsukai, Yusuke and Keiko meet again and they talk for awhile ( Botan is hiding behind the bushes ). And while talking, Yusuke starts to annoy Keiko again by poking her butt. Surprised, Keiko turns and slaps Yusuke twice in the face and landed flat again in the ground. While Yusuke groans over how it really hurts, Keiko suddenly asks Yusuke to do his best in the tournament. She started to imitate Yusuke's Rei Gan stance and points it right at him. Yusuke just smiled and gave her an approve stance.
Keiko and the rest found the exhausted Yusuke sleeping under the tree after Genkai transfered her powers to him. They all went back to the stadium and leaves Yusuke on Keiko's care. Keiko tumbles and gasps as they fall together. They were sitting and leaning now against the tree, Keiko watches the sleeping Yusuke and had a flashback of them arguing. Then all of a sudden, Yusuke started to move. His head now leans towards Keiko's right shoulder. Later, they were confronted by a group of youkais. They recognized Yusuke and Keiko covers Yusuke with her arms and screams as the youkais are about to attack them. Thankfully, Yusuke's new friends ( Chuu, Rinku, Touya ) came and help them. Keiko gratefully thank these men for saving them from the youkais ( monsters ).
Three years has passed by already, Keiko has grown mature ( her hair is long ). Everybody, except Yusuke, reunite at Genkai's place. Botan, Shizuru, Yukina, Kuwabara, Kurama and Keiko all went to the seashore admiring the beautiful sunset. While looking far ahead the shore, Keiko imagines Yusuke's face and then started yelling for him. Keiko shouts that she can no longer wait for him in more than three years, but suddenly she heard a voice telling her she doesn't have to wait any longer. It was Yusuke, standing not far from her. Keiko runs up to him, jumps towards him, hugs him tightly and both falls in the ground. Keiko kissed Yusuke afterwards. They were only got seperated after a huge wave crashes on them. The series eventually ended here.
